I will be travelling down from Edinburgh to take part in this protest. I have been a Trident Ploughshares member for nearly 20 years and we are always peaceful and non-violent. I think the police have made this statement to convince local people that they are on the case. The case they are not on is tackling the criminality behind the wire at Burghfield – making weapons of indiscriminate mass slaughter is so obviously a breach of humanitarian law. And yes, like the others who will be protesting, I have plenty to do with my time! It will be great when nukes are a thing of the past and we can all get on with the work we love and need to do.
