Additional Guidelines for Participating in Trident Ploughshares activities under COVID

(These Guidelines are in addition to our nonviolence and safety guidelines above.

TP actively preserves the human right to protest and refuses to be silent or complicit in allowing illegal and dangerous activities by corporations and the state to continue unopposed. Our direct action will continue but will be done in a manner that protects public health during the virus pandemic.

  • We will ensure that we keep ourselves and others safe.
  • We will follow the suggested Covid precautions on face masks, distance and hygiene.
  • We will be aware of the local rules on travel and travel in a safe manner so as not to cause any pandemic to spread.
  • We will always consider the legal implications in our action planning to minimise the possibility of being arrested for breaking Covid Regulations.
  • We will not take part in TP actions if we or anybody in our close proximity has been tested positive or experienced Covid symptoms in the previous 10 days.
  • We will organise ourselves in small groups and bring and handle our own protest props to avoid the virus from spreading.
  • We will ensure that our fellow activists and our affinity group have thoroughly discussed their personal limits and wishes and have communicated these to everyone concerned before the action.
