Carol Archer, a TP supporter who was also active at the FABB camp in June, was also there and wrote, It was a wonderful experience with over 5000 people surrounding Parliament where terrible things are happening by our so called representatives. Even though a rail strike may have prevented many not getting there the human chain connected without any problems.

Famous people were there and not so famous people. Stella Assange and her children, one of her sons wore a t-shirt with ‘free my dad’! Jeremy Corbyn, Chris Williamson, Marc Wadsworth, Lokey, Asa Winstanley, Jonathan Cook, Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi, and so many more some of whom I spoke to or just caught sight of.

Thousands and thousands of us were there because the person who revealed the crimes, committed by the US and UK, is wrongly imprisoned without any charges against him, yet the criminals in governments go free.

If you needed reminding, Julian Assange is still not free after 3 years, 5 months and 27 days of political imprisonment in HMP Belmarsh, following 6 years, 9 months and 23 days of arbitrary detention in the Ecuadorian embassy. If you’d like to be more informed by a reliable source then read ‘The trial of Julian Assange’ by Nils Melzer – the UN Special Rapporteur for Torture.

I met up with a group of Assange supporters whom I’ve known for some years when protesting at Belmarsh and Westminster magistrates court. We continued after the human chain at a local pub for several hours of interesting discussions on several subjects, and pints and a couple of gnt’s! It’s so essential to reunite with good people.

It was great to be in solidarity with friends and the thousands of other people who believe that this man, Julian Assange, should be free. No extradition to the US who want to imprison him for 175 years for revealing their crimes. #FreeJulianAsaangeNow ‘.
