On 14 September over 50 people turned up on a very wet day to join The Mad Hatters, Trident Ploughshares Affinity Group,to walk from Stratford Station to the ExCel Exhibition Centre in Docklands for the opening day of the 2021 DSEI Arms Fair. They were alerting East Londoners to the Arms Fair in their area and to encourage them to demand that it shouldn’t take place there again.
When they arrived at ExCel they dropped beautiful wreaths in the dock with names of some of the places where civilians have suffered from the weaponry on display at the fair.
Subsequently some Mad Hatters returned to present cards and chocolates to Judges and staff at Stratford Magistrates Court as a token of their thanks for the acquittal of DESI activists and the positive attitudes of the staff towards those from their group who supported defendants by leafleting outside the court.
