On Monday 11th March, 2 years after the Fukushima nuclear power station disaster, a group of non- violent activists from the Muriel Lesters Trident Ploughshares affinity group, Kick Nuclear, Japanese Against Nuclear & CAAT, again demonstrated outside the London headquarters of Lockheed Martin, one of the world`s largest arms makers/dealers. Lockheed Martin is a partner in the private consortium running the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston & Burghfield, where new nuclear weapons are being planned.

People held banners and leafletted the public informing them about Lockheed Martin`sdeadly activities and inviting them to attend a vigil later outside the Japanese Embassy and a meeting in the House of Commons. One member of the group gave out specific leaflets to those entering and leaving the building asking them to reconsider their employment and chose something less harmful than arms production. Lockheed Martin’s HQ which has no nameplate outside is at Cunard House, 15 Regent Street, London

Despite the bitter cold many leaflets were distributed and people were given explanations of the continuing problems being caused by the nuclear meltdown in Japan and the links between nuclear power and nuclear weapons.
Later some of the group continued to the Japanese Embassy vigil and then to Westminster.
